Water is underrated! It’s one of the top 3 things that’s helped me shed fat meat and slim down over the past few months. As soon as I stop drinking it, I get that “basketball belly effect”!
Water fills you up, helps you fight cravings, helps slim you down and detoxifies your body.
I have become a bit of a water connoisseur. I mix and match herbs and citrus fruits all in the hopes of giving water some pizazz. Just to help it along. To help me along.
I am grateful that, in my adult life, I’ve never been a soda girl. It burns my throat and that’s offensive. Impolite. But if I did love soda, I’d be bigger than a house. Actually, with my history of emotional eating, forget the house. I’d be the block!
I’m not a fan of fruit juice drinks either! Too much sugar. That’s shocking, isn’t it, being that I’m a recovering sugar addict and all.
This all probably comes from living in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean where people make their fruit drinks from scratch, from real fruit, and water… and a bit of sugar. And not the whole box.
Last week I read an article from a fitness expert who recommends tips on how to burn fat and lose weight. She explained what we’ve all been hearing for years. One of the most effective ways to lose weight is to drink half your body weight in ounces!
Good God Almighty! I’ve been slacking. I need to add about 2 1/2 more glasses a day!
Are you slacking too? If so, get you some spearmint or some other natural herbs (um, not that kind, although… hmmm) and some citrus slices and start there.
Get some herbs like spearmint (I use just a sprig for a more subtle flavor). Then, slice up a piece of citrus fruit like lemon. Put them both in cute little mugs like these and give the citrus fruit a squeeze for good measure.
Fill up your mug with water. Then, screw on the cap and you’ve got gourmet, naturally flavored detox water!
How do you hydrate?
