If you’re addicted to sour patch kid candy, and you’re trying to kick the habit, this tangy mango lemon green smoothie will leave you gratified by as much as 95%! It does lose about 5 percentage points because it lacks the chewiness, however, but nothing’s perfect.
It’s so dang yummy and zesty that you’ll forget it’s good for you… And kids will forget it’s green! Believe me, I know.
I tested it out on kids to make sure my taste buds weren’t deceiving me.
I whipped up a small batch for a group of friends and their kids, nervous to hear their critiques. And well… the kids said it was, “gucci,” “legit,” “straight fire,” and “the bomb”!
I do not know the exact meaning of all of those words, but the smiles on their kids’ faces, and the number of calls for seconds, told me all I needed to know.
The tangy yumminess is only half the good news though. Some of the nutritional deets are equally impressive:
Protein: 8.5 (those wondrous chia)
Fiber: 15.3 (half the daily value you need to get “regular”
Trust me- you won’t get enough of this! So, save yourself time (and money!) during those hectic mornings when you don’t feel like making anything healthy or those lazy afternoons when you want a sweet, faux sour patch kids kick!
Put all of the ingredients, besides the liquid, in giant glass jars and stick them in the freezer until you’re ready. Then, dump all of the ingredients into your blender with water and stevia. In less than a minute, your nutritious treat will be ready for slurpage!
Go ahead and try it. It’s quick, easy and delicious. Oh, and don’t forget… It’s “gucci” (??)!
